Battle of Ettlingen

Arc de Triomphe: ETLINGEN


July 9, 1796

A French army led by General Moreau moved through Germany while an Austrian army led by Archduke Charles made a stand at Ettlingen. When the two sides clashed, the French proved victorious and the Austrians fell back to the east.
