Battle of Lonato
August 3, 1796 - August 4, 1796
As the Austrians marched to relieve the siege of Mantua, they split into different columns on their route. Badly outnumbered, French General Bonaparte seized the opportunity to defeat each Austrian column in turn. At Lonato the French met the column commanded by Baron Quosdanovich and defeated them, blocking their attempt to link up with the other Austrian forces.
