Battle of Montagne Noire
Also known as: Black Mountain
November 17, 1794 - November 20, 1794
French General Dugommier planned an offensive with his Army of the Eastern Pyrenees to push back the Spanish army commanded by Count de la Union. At breakfast, a shell exploded killing Dugommier and General Perignon assumed command. The French proceeded with their attack and were successful in taking the Spanish positions.
