Battle of Tudela
Arc de Triomphe: TUDELA
November 23, 1808
Napoleon had detached Marshal Lannes with a corps of troops to defeat the Spanish army under General Castaños. The two forces met at Tudela. The Spanish were disorganized and their commanders almost refused to cooperate, and the French easily crushed the army. However, a number of the Spanish successfully escaped to fight again in the future.
