Battle of Vauchamps

February 14, 1814

Realizing that the forces with Marshal Blucher were weakened, Napoleon turned his attention away from the corps of General Sacken and Yorck and towards those directly under Blucher. Blucher had been advancing towards Vauchamps against Marshal Marmont when suddenly he realized he was facing Napoleon in person with a much larger force than he thought. Blucher immediately tried to reverse course and retreat, but his forces were attacked by the French cavalry and suffered heavy losses.
